Day 36: Boulder to Atlantic City, WY (75 miles)

Between the winds and the damn cattle across the highway from the campground mooing all damn night, I didn’t sleep well. Been sleeping in cattle country many nights now, even with them coming through my camp more than once, and this is the first time they never shut the hell up.

Todays ride started on nice very low traveled paved road. The road eventually turned to dirt but I must say its one of the smoothest dirt roads I’ve ever seen! In Michigan, we wish our PAVED roads were this good. With the good roads along with moderate elevation changes allowed for a high mileage day.

Day 39: Rawlins WY to Aspen Alley (52 miles)

8/31/18

Was up early to get to the continental breakfast offered at the hotel and visit a nearby grocery store to stock up on supplies. When I got back to the hotel I had one more fill of the breakfast with Gene before hitting the trail. On the road about 9:00 am the Wyoming winds quickly grew and if they were not coming at me straight head on, it was pretty darn close.

Day 43: Near Lynx pass to Kremmling (40 miles)

9/4/15

The weather was looking fair when I poked my head out of the tent this morning. Had grand plans of riding 60 to 70 miles today because I needed to be in Silverthorne, CO by noon tomorrow (Saturday) to pick up a package at the post office, which contained my next two maps. If I didn’t make before they closed at noon, I would have to wait in Silverthorne until Tuesday because Monday is Labor Day.
